SYNOPSYS
You will never look at a horse the same way. Mainly because look- ing is not seeing. And this is precisely the theme of this documen- tary: an invitation to seeing.
In Visions in the Dark, the relationship between horses and train- ers is a metaphor to demonstrate how our disconnection from nature has led us to contemporary blindness. Limited to our per- spective, we lost touch with intuitive ways of communication, narrowing our vision.
But a new path was carved by those who dared to see differently. We will follow Monty Roberts, the creator of a non-violent training method based on silent body language, with his head instructor, Denise Heinlein, as they challenge traditions in breathtaking land- scapes such as California, Patagonia and Europe, including a visit to the Queen of England. We will also meet communication spe- cialists such as Denis Connolly, the director of the School of Look- ing in Paris, and the writer Yoko Tawada, joining a conversation about the limits and possibilities of languages for human under- standing and authentic connections.
Visions in the Dark intends to recover our ability to see the world for the first time. Because reconnecting with nature is reconnect- ing with ourselves. And the closer we get, the further we see.
